Digital Women Lunch & Learn: How to Become a Content Creating Machine
" I know first-hand how daunting showing up on camera can be."
Recently, I had the absolute privilege of hosting a Lunch and Learn session for the wonderful DigitalWomen community. The topic of the day was "How to Become a Content Creating Machine", where I shared a practical framework for creating consistent, engaging content without spending hours wondering what on earth to post.
As an animator and video producer for financial services and heritage firms, my passion is helping businesses turn complex themes and stories into brilliant, engaging videos. I know first-hand how daunting showing up on camera can be. However, I also know that you have all the knowledge locked inside your mind - you are the ultimate expert in your business! Sharing my insights with the DigitalWomen community was a fantastic opportunity to help others build a more consistent, sustainable content routine.
Topics We Covered
Here’s a closer look at the key areas we explored during the session:

Building a Content Strategy: We looked at how to build a robust strategy by categorising your ideas into 'content buckets'. These include educational posts, behind-the-scenes moments, industry thought leadership, and social proof like video testimonials.
Generating Endless Ideas: We discussed how to generate a steady stream of ideas using your own client FAQs. You can also find incredible inspiration by taking part in social media challenges and brainstorming script outlines or video hooks with AI tools like Gemini or ChatGPT.
The Magic of Repurposing: We explored how to turn one piece of long-form content, such as a podcast, webinar, or client work, into multiple formats. This includes short-form clips, carousels, newsletters, and blog posts.
Creating an Efficient Workflow: I shared my master blueprint for planning ahead. We talked about setting aside a couple of hours to batch record your videos, editing them efficiently, and scheduling them weeks in advance using tools like Meta.
Tools of the Trade: I recommended some brilliant software to make life easier. We covered using Opus to automatically identify and edit highlight clips from long-form video, and CapCut for creating polished short-form content straight from your phone. I also suggested Canva for designing beautiful, branded carousels.
Confidence on Camera: We tackled imposter syndrome and how to feel more confident on video. My biggest piece of advice is to focus on value over vanity, keeping your content authentic and true to your own voice. You don’t need expensive gear, just your smartphone, a quiet room, and good natural lighting from a window or a simple LED ring light. Always remember my favourite mantra: "Version one is better than version none!"
The Seven-Day Video Challenge
We finished the session by launching into my seven-day video challenge. This simple framework gives you a prompt for each day to help you break through any creative blocks and get perfectly comfortable on camera. When I completed this challenge myself a few months ago, it boosted my Instagram views by 30,000, so I highly recommend giving it a go to track your own interactions!
